How to Upload Photos from a Phone

These steps are for adding family photos from a phone. The exact buttons may look different on different phones, but the idea is the same.

• Choose the clearest version of the photo.
• If it is a paper photo, place it on a flat surface with good light and avoid glare.
• If there is writing on the back, photograph the back too.
• Write down who provided the photo.

1. Open the wiki in your phone browser.
2. Log in if needed.
3. Open the page where the photo belongs, such as Photos or Unidentified Photos.
4. Tap Edit this page.
5. Tap Media Files or the image/media button.
6. Choose the file from your phone.
7. Upload it.
8. Insert the image into the page.
9. Add names, dates, places, and questions below the photo.
10. Save the page.

• If you do not know who is in the photo, add it to Unidentified Photos.
• If you know only one person, write that down.
• Approximate dates are useful: “probably 1960s” is better than leaving it blank.
• If uploading is hard, send the photo to a family helper and ask them to add it.
