Caramelized Tofu Recipe
Ingredients
- 7–8 ounces extra-firm tofu
- Fine-grain sea salt
- Olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
- 3 tablespoons cane sugar or brown sugar
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 lb Brussels sprouts, shredded
Instructions
- Cook tofu strips in a hot skillet with oil and salt until golden.
- Add garlic and pecans and cook 1 minute.
- Stir in sugar and cook another couple minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in cilantro.
- Transfer tofu to a plate.
- Add more oil and salt to the same pan.
- Cook Brussels sprouts over medium-high heat until lightly browned and tender.
- Serve sprouts with tofu.
Notes
Try adding bacon for extra flavor.
