Caramelized Tofu Recipe

  • 7–8 ounces extra-firm tofu
  • Fine-grain sea salt
  • Olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup pecans, toasted and chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cane sugar or brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 lb Brussels sprouts, shredded
  1. Cook tofu strips in a hot skillet with oil and salt until golden.
  2. Add garlic and pecans and cook 1 minute.
  3. Stir in sugar and cook another couple minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in cilantro.
  5. Transfer tofu to a plate.
  6. Add more oil and salt to the same pan.
  7. Cook Brussels sprouts over medium-high heat until lightly browned and tender.
  8. Serve sprouts with tofu.

Try adding bacon for extra flavor.
